Road Trip II

We made it! Yesterday we passed through Utah, Nevada, and finally into California. Arriving in San Francisco around 6pm we began to assess the damages to the rental car ....not too bad really ...there was still some evidence from our mud puddle excursion in Iowa ...or was it Wyoming. At any rate, here are some photos from our journey:

Bonneville Salt Flats: Home of the land speed record
Jeff really wanted to test the limits of our rental out on the salt flats ....but we decided against it.

Some random person off in the distance

Jeff is quite the engineer. Here we have a prototype of the Schalk Road Trip Straw.
"Never take your hands off the wheel"

Although it is no substitute for Sheetz, Love's gas stations make for exciting rest stops ....good snack selections, clean bathrooms, and a fantastic collection of Native American dolls.

Ah, it's been awhile since you posted a picture of a public bathroom!

Hope the Malibu survived--er, you survived the Malibu.

Can't wait to hear all about your adventures.

Yeah, I've meaning to be more diligent with my bathroom studies ...especially now that I have a partner with whom I can compare and contrast facilities across gender lines.

See you soon!

Wow, I can see the reflection of the toilet on the sparkling white bathroom tile. I'll give it to you - you have quite the talent. Show off.

While I admire Jeff's invention of the road trip straw for the mere purpose of invetion's sake, I scoff at the motto "never take your hands off the wheel". How are you supposed to have any fun on a road trip with that kind of motto? You'll need to come up with a better marketing line.
